Since 1903, Glen Appin have been going strong since then. Originally trading under the name Bulloch, Cowell & Company, they mainly manufactured cloth. In the 60’s the company became limited and moved into gifts and textiles. In 1968 they became Glen Appin and then Glen Appin of Scotland Limited in February of 2014.

Glen Appin designs and manufactures all their products in house from their headquarters in East Kilbride and supplies to retailers across the globe with Scottish gifts and apparel. You can easily recognise them by their distinct golden Highland Coo logo on a black background.

One of their more exquisite products is their range of Harris Tweed bags. Still a staple in Scottish fashion today! Glen Appin only use genuine Harris Tweed as they know that there’s many companies producing copycats of lesser quality.

Pure Harris Tweed is made using new Scottish wool, as opposed to polyester used by imposter brands. The wool gets its vibrant colour from directly dying the wool and blending the results into yarn. Making the vibrant colours we know. It’s this unique mixing process that gives Harris Tweed its incredible richness. The cloth is then handwoven in the weavers' homes.
