The stirring history of the Clan Scott from its beginnings in the mists of medieval Caledonian history down to the present time. The history of the clan can be traced to the early twelfth century, when they were a powerful Border family who spent a great deal of their time feuding with neighbouring clans or raiding into England. Later Scotts aligned themselves with Robert the Bruce and their enmity with the English continued right up to the Union of the Crowns in 1603.
