The Origins of the Nivens/Nevins and Their Place in History.

Of ancient roots, the Nivens and their namesakes the Nevins have from earliest times been particularly associated with Ayrshire and Galloway, areas that featured prominently in the nation’s struggle for freedom and independence.

In later centuries, one bearer of the name suffered the terrible fate of being burned as a witch while, in more settled times, others have gained fame and acclaim through more peaceful endeavours and pursuits.
