Handmade in the Scottish Highlands from red leather with a soft black leather trim, the heavyset, high quality fittings in bright polished nickel enhance the distinctive style of the 1834 Red, a nod to the empowering punk fashion of 70s Britain.

Each 1834 has an adjustable strap, so it can be worn as a shoulder, cross-body or waist bag, in the traditional Celtic sporran style.

Designed with an expanding leather inner, the bag is compact yet deceivingly spacious.

Born out of necessity in the 12th century, Highland warriors were the first to wear the leather sporran, over a kilt - a single piece of tartan cloth requiring no tailoring, and therefore no pockets.

This contemporary reinterpretation by NIXEY stays true to the original design essence, yet adds an element of surprise as each 1834 seamlessly transitions from a festival waist bag to a daytime cross-body bag, to an evening shoulder handbag.
